MPX5126225: John Lennon and Yoko Ono prepare for a trip up to Durness, Scotland in their Austin Maxi with his son Julian and her daughter Kyoko. Unfortunatley the journey ended 40 miles from Durness in a ditch near Tongue. John was driving on a single track road and swerved to avoid a confused German driver coming the other way. They spent five days in a local hospital recovering. 27th June 1969 (b/w photo) / Bridgeman Images

MPX5126329: Ninety Warwick children had their first lessons in open-plan classrooms yesterday when they returned to school in a new building. They are in the junior section at St. Mary's R.C. Primary School in Warwick, but have moved into the part of the new school in Priory Pools which will eventually be used for the infants. Meanwhile, yesterday the 60 infants were being taught as usual in the old school in West Street, built in 1905 and nicknamed "The Black Hole of Calcutta." The new school is due to be completed by Christmas at a cost of 25,000 and will include a gym, music rooms, and playing fields. The school's parent-teacher association recently started a fund to build a 3,000 swimming pool at the new school. Our photograph is of Mr. Don Thurlow, teacher in charge of junior two class, talking to the boys and girls during their first day in the recently completed premises. 17th April 1972 (b/w photo) / Bridgeman Images
