MPX5096235: Three sky-divers who made a sponsored parachute jump for charity handed over £381 to American singer Tony Bennett. They visited his dressing room in the Newcastle City Hall minutes before he was due to go on stage. He received the money in cash and cheques, on behalf of the Variety Club of Great Britain. The three parachutists were Alan Ferris, manager of Tiffany's nightclub Newcastle, who handed Mr Bennett the money, and two of his staff Ken Slowther and Trevor Jones. 15/03/1973 / Bridgeman Images
MPX5097846: John Letts, father of the 'quins' collected his wife from University College Hospital. The babies will remain in hospital for some time yet, but Mrs. Letts did take with her five rag dolls which were hung on the incubators by the nursing staff on Christmas Eve.
