MPX5077461: When the wires on which the hop strings hang become broken or want repairing Bert Bishop mounts a high pair of stilts and repairs the wires without ladders etc. Joan Pallington, a land girl employed on Whitbread's farm saw Bert Bishop on his stilts and thought she would like to have go and see what she could do instead of using a ladder and so Bert is teaching her how to get on the stilts and walk with them.
