TEC4573235: La Defense de Paris, sculpture (1883) by Louis Ernest Barrias (1841-1905), a la Defense (Hauts de Seine). In 1878, the general council of the department of the Seine decided on a contest for a monument to the defense of Paris in 1870. Barrrias's work was retained and inaugurated in 1883 at the roundabout of Courbevoie, representing a bronze allegory: the City of Paris, a young mobile guard and a girl symbolizing the innocent civilian population. in order to carry out the renovation work of the neighbourhood, the year of its centenary in 1983, it returned to its place in the centre of the neighbourhood to which it gave its name. / Bridgeman Images
LBY4572736: Les Catacombes, Paris 14th arrondissement. The origin of the catacombs dates back to the end of the 18th century, and collected all the bones found in the soil of Paris until around 1950.
