Yesterday was the deadline for carrying out the order, but children wept their mothers rebelled. So when a van of the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals drove up to Bower and Domelton House, Wandsworth, S.W. excepting to go off with a load of cats. dogs and canaries, they went away with One cat. ZUM4896241: Nov. 21, 1953 - British Sculptor completes his bronze statue for ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~.: British Sculptor Bainbridge Copnall has just completed his Bronze statue of the late General U Aung San who was assassinated in 1947. The statue was commissioned by the Burma Government, and Mr. Copwall was assisted in the work by Burmese sculptor San Tei - who besides working on the statue donned a uniform and at times acted as model.
