Saint Pair (Paterne or Patern), originally from Armorique, is the first eveque attests to Vannes and one of the seven holy founders of Brittany (died between 490 and 511) - Jealous by the city authorities, he had to leave the region to take refuge in a monastery. Legend says that after his death many miracles would have taken place on his grave. Caught of remorse, the Vannetais brought home the remains of their eveque and built the church of Saint Patern on its tomb - Engraving by Adolphe Gusman, mid-19th century: St Pair warmed a sick child - St Patern feast on April 15 or May 21 (Roman calendar)
