Three members of the Standard Motor Company Pipe Band, clad in the Royal Stuart tartan, were cheered by the crowd of 450 revellers as they heralded the arrival of the customary haggis, prepared by the head chef. The guests had all paid £5 10s a head to toast in the new year with champagne. 1st January 1966 (b/w photo)
