ZUM4848211: Jun. 01, 1953 - Landshut Preparing for its prince's wedding: The 50th jubilee performance of the” Landshut Prince's Wedding of 1475” is taking place by the end of June. The performance is a true copy of the grand court festival of late Gothic time: in 1475 Duke Hedwig the Rich married his son Joerg who later became Duke George the Rich, to the 18-years-old Hedwiga, daughter of king Kasimir the IV of Poland. All Landshut citizens are taking part in this play which is said to be the greatest historical festival of Germany and already for months the city and the citizens get prepared for the festival days.
