They left Buckingham Palace at 5 a.m., arriving at Westminster Abbey a little more than half an hour later. The troops wore battledress and no bands were used. The State Coach and a few troops - to represent the immediate entourage - covered the rest of the route. The object of the rehearsal was to practise the marshalling of the procession...
