Cut Glass fruit bowls were used as fonts at the mass baptism which followed the laying of the foundation stone of the new Church of St. Francis, on the Clifton Estate, Nottingham, during the wee-end. the stone was laid by the blacksmith of Clifton Village, who is also the Parish Church clerk, and a bricklayer living on the Clifton Estate, Mr.Reuben Simkiss, on of the volunteer workers engaged in building the Church.
