He challenges any amateur gardener to better his record of over 500lbs weight of pumpkins grown from 6 plants. He was helped to grow this weight by a freak second crop, the first normal crop of 11 pumpkins from his 6 plants weighted in at 400lbs. When he returned from a fortnight's holiday, the second crop had started growing due to the Indian summer.
