North East Shipwrecks - The 70-foot fishing trawler Conduan (Buckie) grounded on to Cullercoats beach in dense fog and the eight man Geordie crew were winched to safety by coastguards. Captain Norman Morse, 51, voiced his worries about leaving the 50-ton boat beached. He said:
