MPX5139174: Gateshead blasted back to the seventies with a special celebration to mark the towns part in the making of classic British film Get Carter, starring Michael Caine. A commemorative plaque was revealed at the redeveloped Trinity Square site yesterday at the spot of the now-demolished multi-storey car park which was made famous in the 1971 gangster drama. As well as the unveiling of the plaque, a 1970s- themed event took place at Trinity Square, which included a display of classic cars from the era and a VIP screening of the original film at Vue cinema.
