ZUM4859679: Jul 07, 1953 - YOUTH RESCUED BY HELIETER AFTER Falling OVER CLIFF. A youth had fallen over a cliff at Kynance Cove, beauty spot near The Lizard, Cornwall. He lay upon a rocky islet, partly submerged at high tide. His brothers and coastguards could not move him, he was so badly injured. Coastguards called the Royal Naval Air Station at Culdrose, and ten minutes later a helicopter was hovering over the spot. The Air Station doctor, Surgeon Lieut. Robinson, was lowered on a cable and gave the injured lad, 18-year-old David Kaye, morphia. Then, on a Mae West, David was hauled up to the helicopter by electric winch.
