ZUM4839955: May 05, 1953 - Rehearsal for the coronation procession: A rehearsal for the Coronation procession was held this morning. About 300 troops were used to represent the unite taking part. They left Buckingham Palace at 5 am arriving at Westminster Abbey a little more than half an hour later. The troops wore battledre ~ s and no bands were used. The State Coach and a few troops to represent the immediate entourage covered the rest of the route. The object of the rehearsal was to practice the marshaling of the procession / Bridgeman Images
