Aug 07, 1953 - Tube Train Crashes Off Line: A two - coach empty Underground train came off the rails at High Barnet early today. The first coach slid down the embankment, and the driver, Natorman T. Barker, was taken to hospital with shock. The second each hung over the edge of the embankment. The accident cecurred as the train was being drives into the sidings. Five trails were cancelled but normal services ran again soon afterwards
