The” Beverley”, known in its commercial role as the” Universal”, h as been designed to meet the demand for an aircraft able to carry a variety of loads, being just as suitable for high density passenger transport to coach type standards as for freight, or freight and passenger operations. Its large main cargo hold and additional compartments are available to carry 22 tons on useful load. This freighter is new to commerce and industry. Only recently has it been considered by authorities in Australia as a vehicle for solving future transport problems and as an aircraft to extend rail and road facilities. It can carry such varied loads as live cattle, carcase meat, minerals, heavy machinery and general cargo of all descriptions. The” Baverley” complies fully with I.C.A.O. standards. As a high density passenger transport its total seating capacity is 132, fort-two of these” Universal” and the military” Beverley” are basically indenti9cal, differences being solely confined to internal equipment and Layout.
