The annual Tug O' war battle of the sexes took place yesterday outside the Pilot Pub in Dungeness. Upwards of 100 people take place in this men v. women, no holds barred contest. The women won this years contest (the seventh) by winning two pulls out of three. Referee was Frank Paine, 32, Mechanic of the Mabel Holland, the Dungeness life- boat. Kent, December 1969 (b/w photo)
