Fifteen of the crew of the Dutch motor vessel Spaarnestroom (657 tons) were rescued following a collision in dense Channel fog four mile south east of Dover between their ship and the German steamer Waldemar Sieg (4,877 tons). the men were transferred from the Waldemar Sieg, which had picked them up, to the Dover lifeboat.
