MPX5166039: Cars and bits of cars litter the Silverstone track. Rescuers struggle in the smoke to free drivers. Women in the nearby grandstand were screaming and crying. This was the scene just over a minute into the 1973 British Grand Prix race. South African Jody Schekter lost control and spun across the track after the tyre burst on his McLaren at Woodcote Corner.
