March 3, 1970 - Tue 03, 1970 - Explosions and Fire Destroy Greenwich Village House - Several People Are Dead. Today at noon three explosions and a raging fire destroyed a £275,000 townhouse at 18 West 11 Street in New York's Greenwich Village. Experts say the accident originated from a bomb factory, which could have destroyed the entire block. Following the explosion Cathlyn Wilkerson, daughter of the house owner, a member of the student radical SDS Movement was seen fleeing with other young people, their clothes obviously damaged by the explosion. Police identified the body of Theodore Gold, a student SDS leader and” Weathermen” member at Columbia University. It is known that he was working on a manuscript on revolution.

The charge was that they entered the flat of Mr. Frank Rogers in Blackpool - drank Gin - Vermouth etc.. and helped themselves to spirits.. They claimed that the whole thing was carried out as a joke.. Dianna Dors was given an absolute discharge-and her husband and J.F.Markall were found £10.each.
