Woman police constable to take part.: An attractive young London Policewoman is to take part in the Coronation Searchlight Tattoo, which opens at the White City on July 13th, and which the Queen will wait on the 14th. She is Woman Police Constable Cynthia Berg~nt.One of the highlights of the Tattoo will be a Cavelry Ride by the Metropolitan Mounted Police, wearing the full dress of famous Cavalry regiments. A feature of the Ride is the Bridal Arch, when the troopers form an archway with their lances. Under the archway of lances, accompanied by a trooper, Woman Police Constable Inkster will ride in a special-made, all-white costume, a form of bridal gown. ZUM4857022: Jul 07, 1953 - 100 army guns seized in van. In centre of Market town 28 miles from London.: More than 100 guns from an Army store were found in a van, stopped by police at Bishops Stortford, Herts, early yesterday. The miniature arsenal, piled high in the back of the van included 99 Le Enfield, 303 rifles, eight Bren guns, ten Sten guns, a two inch mortar, a Browning machine gun and an ati-tank gun. It was a 3-20 am when a police patrol car headed off the van in Potter Street, in the centre of Bishops Statford 0 28 miles from London. A second police car pulled up close behind the van. It all happened as part of a routine check as the police thought in unusual for a tiny van to be travelling through the town of that hour. Three men will appear in court today / Bridgeman Images

ZUM4846872: May 16, 1953 - During maneuvers, an American jet fighter, F-89, collided with a transport vehicle, G-82. At least five people were killed, and police, Red Cross, and firemen assisted at the scene. American MPs arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. The pilot of the jet fighter lost both of his legs. The performance is a true copy of the grand court festival of late Gothic time: in 1475 Duke Hedwig the Rich married his son Joerg who later became Duke George the Rich, to the 18-years-old Hedwiga, daughter of king Kasimir the IV of Poland. All Landshut citizens are taking part in this play which is said to be the greatest historical festival of Germany and already for months the city and the citizens get prepared for the festival days.
