MPX5088219: What do you wear when the sun really shines as though it means it, and you mean to enjoy it? From St. Tropez to Southend, the girls are covering up in long, drifting skirts in the prettiest possible prints. The newest are made on dirndl lines, gathered into a tight waist that is often shirred. Then they add the barest little tee-shirt tops they can find and top the lot with a demure straw hat dripping with flowers. If you prefer something briefer, there are some great new sundresses and playsuits. Cut on real glamour girl lines with halter necklines and bare backs, they are in complete contrast to the almost Victorian look of long skirts. July 1973 / Bridgeman Images
MPX5088277: Humour: Pictures of set of "Nude" furniture designed and sculpted by painter and graphic artist Allen Jones, aged 32. This is his second excursion into sculpture. The set comprises a table composed of a crouching female figure, supporting a plate of glass. Another "Nude" stands there with her hands outstretched. If you hang a hat on it it becomes a hat-stand, and of course there is a chair consisting of a girl with a seat on top. Allen Jones is an internationally reputed artist. He makes these figures in fibre-glass and leather. The artist's wife laying the table. December 1969 / Bridgeman Images

MPX5088623: Warden Bill Watson at the bedside of Mrs. R. Foster.
