By December 13, 1854, the species surrounding the Arc de Triomphe is devolu to 12 private hotels that still remain today. The gardens of these hotels look towards the square. These hotels are clearly recognizable by their identical columns. It was for no reason that Parisians called them hotel des Marechaux at the time.
