Dinah Roe was born in Bakewell in Derbyshire in 1923 into a family of professional artists.
After her war service in the Red Cross, she gained a place at the Slade School of Fine Art, where she was a student for three years. Dinah married in 1950 and had five children. During this time her work was severely limited. She eventually returned to the Slade, where she learn printmaking and painted at home.
Dinah's work has an emphasis on her personal faith in Jesus Christ. When she was in Cyprus, the British Council arranged for her to have an exhibition in Nicosia. She regularly exhibited in Duncan Campbell's Gallery in Kensington Square. She was invited to have a solo exhibition at Canterbury Cathedral for a month, which was followed by Chichester and Winchester cathedrals. She celebrated the latter with the launching of her book ''Allegories of Heaven''.
