Biography
William Blake (b. 1757 d. 1827) was a renowned English poet, painter, and printmaker. Though he was largely unrecognised during his life, Blake is now considered to be a seminal figure in the history of the poetry and visual art of the Romantic Age. His artistry led 21st-century critic Jonathan Jones to describe him 'far and away the greatest artist Britain has ever produced'.
