He wears the necklace of broom-pods, fleurs de lilies and a cross, a violet chaperon or hood, white damask coat of arms tunic, gold belt, sword and scabbard, red stockings and long cracows or foals. The order was created by King Louis IX on his wedding to Margeret of Provence in 1234.
