PCT4264546: Engraving by Henry Meyer (1844-1899) published by the Supplement illustrious du Petite Journal n°62 of 30 January 1892 on the occasion of the Saint Charlemagne. King of France and emperor of the West, the sovereign “” has the flower beard”, creator of the School and patron of the University of Paris, was cannonized by a decret of the antipope Pascal 3, a decret never contradicted by the following legitimately popes. The illustration shows schoolchildren and students in uniform raising their glasses in honor of Charlemagne, swelled in hand and in dress. The monarch answers them by raising a cup. The scene takes place under the gaze of a bust of Republican Marianne, surrounded by French flags. / Bridgeman Images
