The duck pond fleet sets of Newbold, near Chesterfield is out on manoeuvres, but the flag-ship - a raft on empty oil drums - has to heave-to for a moment while a goose convoy paddles past. Sailors of the "Fleet" are all children of Newbold, members of a sailing club started twenty five years ago by Mr. T. Needham. The "Fleet" boasts a new "Admiral" every year Brian Elliot, 11 holds the rank this year.
