Biography
Alfred Sisley (b. 1839 d. 1899) was a landscape painter of the Impressionist movement who was born and spent the majority of his life in France. He was the most consistent of the Impressionist artist in his dedication to painting landscape en plein air. This was an unprecedented way of painting in the 19th century. Sisley and his contemporaries also painted with bold colours and with short and quick brushstrokes.
