Biography
Pinturicchio, whose real name was Bernardino di Betto, was an Italian Renaissance painter born in Perugia around 1452. He was trained in the workshop of Perugino, and his early works show the influence of his master's style. Pinturicchio is best known for his frescoes, which he painted in many churches and palaces throughout Italy. His most famous work is the fresco cycle in the Borgia Apartments of the Vatican Palace, which he completed with the help of his assistants. Pinturicchio's style is characterized by its decorative quality, bright colors, and attention to detail. He was also skilled in portraiture, and his portraits are known for their lifelike quality. Pinturicchio died in Siena in 1513, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful and innovative art.
