Biography
b.1962 Penelope Anstice graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1986. Since then she has undertaken numerous commissions and shown her work in various mixed exhibitions in London and Edinburgh. Her first one-man exhibition in London was the result of a five month painting visit to India. The paintings, mostly of the western coast and Rajastan, show the sensitive response of the artist to the visual and cultural challenges offered up by the atmosphere of an unfamiliar country. The warm human dimension is revealed in her paintings of crowded streets and market places as well as in the studies of individual faces.
