A natural draughtswoman, Refina's paintings show innate compositional skill, firmness of touch and vitality of colour. She has always been an avid horse lover and keen observer of all equine sports. She posesses a perceptive eye for the varying moods of her subjects and is torn equally between her artwork and riding.<br> Refina studied Fine Art at Cambridge and Kindston Schools of Art and trotted off to Newmarket regularly to paint from life. Her commissions began with a portrait of Mill Reef, the Derby and Arc de Triomphe winner, this leading to numerous equine portraits. Her polo commissions include Princes William and Harry, the Hipwood family and the Vesty family's numerous polo ponies, hunters/team chasers adorn the walls at Foxcote.<br> An array of polo studies in brown sepia pastels are on permanent display at the Beaufort Polo Clubhouse Westonbrit, Gloucestershire. <br> Refina's portraits of people include Lester Piggot, Count Claes Bernadotte,The Mendes family, Richard Burton and Liz Taylor and numerous children with their favourite pets.<br> With paintings accepted by the Royal Academy, sotheby's, the Tryon & Swann Gallery, and the Society of Equestrian Artists, Refina's paintings are spread worldwide.
