Biography
Henri-Charles Manguin was a French painter born in Paris in 1874. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was influenced by the Fauvist movement, which emphasized bright colors and bold brushstrokes. Manguin's paintings often depicted landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, and he was known for his use of vibrant colors and loose, expressive brushwork. He exhibited his work at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants, and was a member of the Fauvist group. Manguin's work was also shown in exhibitions in Europe and the United States. He died in Saint-Tropez in 1949. Today, his paintings can be found in museums and private collections around the world.
