Winsor McCay (1869-1934) was an influential cartoonists, perhaps best known for the creation of the 'Little Nemo in Slumberland' comic strip. He was also a pioneer of early animation creating films such as 'Gertie the Dinosaur' (1914), the first to be created using keyframe animation.
