I am a retired NYC Board of Education teacher and a Lifetime Member of The Art Students League, NYC. I began studying part time at The Art Students League in 1968. After retirement in 1999, I continued full time until 2013. In that time I won a merit scholarship to study for a year
at The Art Students League; and two merit scholarship to The National Academy School of Fine
Arts in NYC. I've been in juried shows at The Broome St. Gallery, NYC; The Salmagundi Club, NYC; The Staten Island Museum, S.I. and Snug Harbor Art Lab, S.I. I have had local shows, both solo and group. I was given an Honorable Mention for a portrait that appeared in, "Best of NY Artists," Kennedy Productions, 2006. The Staten Island Museum commissioned 35 prints of my oils of Staten Island scenes that are archived in the museum. The museum also commissioned me to do an oil of the building that houses the museum, which is also archived. Since I was child drawing and color fascinated me. A set of colored pencils my parents gave me started my love of painting.
