Biography
Born in 1965, I am a Cambridge-based artist, and my career as a painter spans over 30 years I approach much of my work as if I were an observer happening on a scene. Though figurative, my paintings often contain surreal elements, inspired by literature, music and hearsay, often with undercurrents of humour. I work mostly in oil on canvas, and I also work graphically in pen and ink. I have written and illustrated two books – The Lemur’s Tale, a picture book for children; and An ABC of Cambridge Professors, a humorous illustrated coffee table book for adults. In the pipeline is a sequel to “The Lemur’s Tale”, and a couple more children’s picture books. I have exhibited both nationally and internationally, and my work has been collected over the years by loyal clients, who include Clive James and Joanna Lumley.
