Valeska Peschke works and teaches internationally as an artist and lecturer. She studied history of fine arts, architecture and sculpture in the USA and at Berlin University of Fine Arts, with a Meisterschüler in the class of Rebecca Horn. Since 1996 she has participated in various international exhibitions, co-founded the artist group ‘City in Shelves’ and the Salon 808. She received stipends, awards and residences and was invited as a lecturer and guest professor at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA, Dresden and Berlin and Danube-University Krems, Austria. Her long term conceptual artworks are based on ideas and identities, referring to poetics, politics and ideal places, as example: “The Mission of Amikejo” as partner of the European Democracy Lab, the Instant Home series and Volcanoes in Berlin, a laboratory on entropy.
