Biography
Edmund Dulac was a French-born British artist and illustrator, born on October 22, 1882, in Toulouse, France. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris before moving to London in 1904. Dulac quickly established himself as a prominent illustrator, working for magazines such as The Pall Mall Magazine and The Strand Magazine. He also illustrated books, including fairy tales and children's stories, and his work was highly sought after. Dulac's illustrations were known for their intricate detail, vivid colors, and dreamlike quality. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts and was awarded the Gold Medal of the Société des Peintres Orientalistes Français. Dulac died on May 25, 1953, in London, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful and imaginative illustrations that continue to captivate audiences today.
