Biography
Charles Rennie Mackintosh (b.1868 d.1928) was a Scottish architect, designer and artist. Mackintosh attended the Glasgow school of art as a student then in 1896 was commissioned to design their new building. He was one of the leaders in creating the distinctive ‘Glasgow style’. This blended Celtic, Arts and Craft and Japanese influences. His distinctive Mackintosh rose motif can also be seen throughout his work.
