I have always been fascinated by the light, its effect on colour and shape has always been foremost in my paintings. I paint in gouache or oils and take a sketchbook everywhere and try and catch the essence of whatever I am drawing. I am fascinated by the sea and the light on the water, I have sailed for many years and love anything to do with boats. My other passion is horses. I have recently returned to the Society of Equestrian Artists and have been painting race, and pastoral scenes. I ride and keep several ponies at home for my grandchildren so inspiration is near at hand! I also paint portraits and take commissions. I attended St Martins School of Art in the 1960s and studied Graphic Design, and I spent 15 years as an art director and illustrator. But during this time I always went back to my one love - painting . I have exhibited at the RA Summer Exhibition, NEAC, SEA, SWA, RBA, and many others. I exhibit at the Brownston Gallery in Modbury Devon.
