Biography
Franz Marc (b. 1880 d. 1916) was a German painter and printmaker, one of the central figures of the German Expressionism movement. He was a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter, a journal whose name later became synonymous with the circle of artists collaborating in it. His later works are mostly of animals, and are known for bright colours.
