Biography
Peder Severin Kroyer (b.1851 d.1909) was a Danish painter. Kroyer studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art receiving a gold medal and scholarship in 1873. After travelling extensively in Paris he was influenced by impressionists and of plein-air painting. After returning to Denmark he spent much of his time on the Jutland coast. Here he depicted numerous beach scenes and themes from local life.
