Biography
Kate Lynch is best known as a rural documentary artist. Her charcoal drawings, pastels and paintings celebrate traditional rural work in Somerset – willow growing and basketmaking, farming, cheesemaking, beekeeping, cidermaking and other crafts and trades. As well as painting and drawing the people working in fields and barns, she collects their personal stories and these oral histories are included in her exhibitions and books.
