Biography
Georges Pierre Seurat (b. 1859 d. 1891) was a significant French artist of the Post-Impressionism style. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest artists of this period. His work signalled a moved away from the spontaneity of Impressionism, instead opting for a structured portrayal of modern urban life. He developed distinct techniques, known as chromoluminarism and pointillism. He also implemented conté crayons for his drawings on rough paper.
