Biography
Elizabeth Wang (1942-2016) was a British artist known for her intricate and detailed paintings of religious and spiritual themes. Born in London, she studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and later at the Royal Academy Schools. Her work was heavily influenced by her Christian faith and she often depicted biblical scenes and figures in her paintings. Wang's style was characterized by her use of vibrant colors and intricate patterns, which she used to create a sense of depth and movement in her work. She was also known for her use of gold leaf, which added a luminous quality to her paintings. Wang's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the National Gallery in London and the Vatican Museum in Rome. She was awarded an OBE in 2008 for her contributions to the arts. Wang passed away in 2016 at the age of 74.
