Biography
Clive Uptton was a British artist born in 1911. He studied at the Royal College of Art in London and later became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists. Uptton was known for his landscape paintings, which often depicted the English countryside and coastlines. He also painted portraits and still lifes. Uptton's work was exhibited in many galleries throughout his career, including the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists. He was awarded several prizes for his paintings, including the Hunting Art Prize in 1981. Uptton continued to paint well into his 90s and passed away in 2006 at the age of 95. His legacy lives on through his beautiful and timeless paintings, which continue to be admired by art lovers around the world.
