Ron Embleton (1930-88) was a British artist and illustrator known for his work in comics, advertising, and publishing. He began his career in the 1950s, working for various publishers and magazines, including Eagle, Look and Learn, and TV Century 21. Embleton was particularly known for his detailed and realistic illustrations, which often featured historical and military themes. In the 1960s, Embleton became a founding member of the illustration agency, Young Artists, which represented some of the most talented artists of the time. He also worked on several advertising campaigns, including those for Shell and British Airways. Embleton's most famous work is perhaps his illustrations for the Ladybird book series, which he worked on from the 1960s to the 1980s. His illustrations for books such as "The Story of the First Queen Elizabeth" and "The Story of the Second World War" are still popular today. Embleton passed away in 1988, but his legacy lives on through his impressive body of work and the influence he had on the illustration industry.
