Susie Hamilton studied painting at St Martins School of Art (1968-1972) and Byam Shaw school of Art (1989-1992). She is represented by Paul Stolper, London with whom she has shown since 1996 in nine solo exhibitions and in group shows and international art fairs. Other solo exhibitions include Paradise Alone, Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, 2002; New Paintings, Galleri Trafo, Oslo, 2007; World of Light, Triumph Gallery, Moscow, 2008 and Black Sun, Studio Hugo Opdal, Flo, Norway, 2009. Group shows include The Whitechapel Open, Whitechapel Gallery, London, 1998; John Moores, The Walker, Liverpool, 2004, 2014, The Summer Exhibition, Royal Academy, London, 2004, 2009, 2014; Strictly Painting 111, Voges + Partner, Frankfurt, 2005, The Jerwood Drawing Prize, Jerwood Space, London, 2012 and The Threadneedle Prize, Mall Galleries, London, 2012, 2014. Her work is in many public and private collections including Bernard Jacobson Collection, Church of St Giles Cripplegate, The Groucho Club, The House of St Barnabas, Deutsche Bank,The Economist, The Methodist Collection of Modern Art, Murderme Collection and New Hall Art Collection. She has recently been selected to be Artist in Residence at the Cornelius Foundation, Lagamas, France in October 2014. She lives and works in London.
