Biography: d. 1993<br> Mary Skempton, a graduate of the Royal College of Arts, was a bookbinder. Her particular expertise however was wood engraving and in 1989 Alec Skempton, in an affectionate tribute to Nancy, selected some forty-four of these, wrote an accompanying biography and published privately the resulting volume bound and printed on handmade paper.
